Mizuho 6 - 8  Eurizon and the Spiderman
Welcome to the 10th match of the Corporate Liga Lux.  Read All

Dear all, welcome to the tenth match of the Corporate Liga 09/10

Referee of the day is Mr André Urbing, of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football,  who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” .

Many players complained to have  been hurt or to have received a blow on the legs. As reminded many times by the referee, we always suggest the use of shin guards. They are not expensive, very comfortable, and avoid many risks. Please, use them.

Ferrero confirms his leadership defeating  EIF with no piety. Eurizon surprised the audience and themselves winning against Mizuho; while PwC won in a fantastic match Sanpaolo, revenging last year final.

Ferrero vs. EIF 17-2

The final score resumes the match: Kinder guys dominated since the first minute.

Ferrero without Stella, while EIF without Yormesor and Beltran.

Difference in physical condition is evident, with Reds applying an effective pressing and counter attack. The team leaded by Fabio Calorio, today man of the match, killed any yellow’s hope already in the first half, going to the break with a score of 8-0.

Sterckx often alone in front of an innocent Giuliani (who played however very well), De Bosio as reference point, Calorio perfect in defence, and  Coimbra ready in the goal: Berteloot and Co. had to face their worst opponent this year. The absence of the powerful Yormesor was quite important, but Moussaoui and Berteloot created few occasions too.

Ferrero is now projected to the playoff, while EIF has to close to the tournament with another very difficult match against PwC. Impossible is nothing.

Best players: Calorio and  Moussaoui

Fair play: Calorio and  Berteloot

Mizuho vs. Eurizon   6-8

After the Eastern holidays, both teams proved to have digested all chocolate eggs. Nice match, fair, but played till the last minute, looking for occasions and not leaving spaces for strikers.

Coach Mariotti with different problems to create a team. The charismatic Kazantzoglou and Mancinelli are out after a surgery; we wish them a fast recovery. So he had to call two new players: Monteiro and Marinho (goalkeeper) .

Eurizon with cap. Liguori,  spiderman Pellegrini as goalkeeper, and Bernasconi back after a long break.

First minutes are exclusively dominated by Mizuho. Closed Eurizon around their goal, they tried many times to score; especially from actions leaded by Monteiro. But no way to penetrate the incredible and fantastic Spiderman, who stopped also a penalty. He’s little, cute and smiling, but hides inside an incredible power. He’s really the man of the match. After a while, Eurizon succeeded to go out from Japanese’s pressing, and scored with Gigliotti. After the draw of Silva few minutes later, Leone closed the first half with a tap in after a counter attack.

Second half opened with a fantastic goal of Magnani, followed by another of Bernasconi, who went out from three players and scored alone in front of the goalkeeper. But after this, the Monteiro show started. With his fantastic ball control, and the help of Camaioni,  he leaded Mizuho to draw the score. It could be another second half’s disaster for the Italian guys, but thanks to Antonella’s support, and the determination (sometimes too much) of all team, Blacks scored again with Gigliotti and Bernasconi.

Many injuries and a consequently high turnover created not few problems to coach Mariotti and president Mary to create a perfect harmony to their team. But however everything, they played very well and fair.

Eurizon won thanks especially to their lovely fans, who supported their teams till the last minute.

Best players:  Monteiro   and  Pellegrini

Fair play:  Camaioni   and  Liguori

PwC vs. Sanpaolo  3-1

Big match of the evening. The two leader teams of the last year again one in front of the other. Fantastic attack for both teams: 98 goals since now for PwC, probably a record; while Sanpaolo has the top scorer since two years, Giovanni Sequi (today injured), with 53 goals. Just numbers underline the value of this match.

PwC without the disqualified Kourrad, but with Chorfi, Semblat, and Martinoni and the determination of Dido. Sanpaolo with Belardi to support Bogusz and Viggiano, and as defender Machado and Virduzzo. Pay attention also to both goalkeepers, André and Ambrosio, who can make the difference.

The game took some time to warm up, as both teams were very careful to avoid risks, and applied a  suffocating pressing. Score was opened by Chorfi after few minutes, exploiting an occasion inside the Sanpaolo area.  Match is very fair, no discussion and the energy is fully dedicated to run. Difficult to create occasions, both teams in perfect physical condition. Belardi was impossible to control, creating chances for all his team, with few incredible ones for Bogusz; Machado fixed in defence, with few occasions in free kicks. But without Sequi, it’s tough to open the Auditor’s wall. Shadie in version Gattuso,  Simmou very well inspired, and a Chorfi who reminded why last year he was second top scorer. Final score with few goals, also because of the two goalkeepers, attentive and perfect in many occasions.

Both teams qualified to final four, with many chances for the Final Four.

Best players:  Simmou   and  Viggiano

Fair play: Chorfi    and  Virduzzo

We had to change date of the Final: now is the Tuesday the 11th of May and not Thursday the 27th. We apologize for all the inconvenients.

Next week interesting match between SEB and Fidelity, where Italians need points for the mathematical confirmation for playoff, while Blues need the victory to keep open any possible door for the Final Four.

Don’t miss it!
