Citi falls and vulters are flying around
Welcome to the fifth match of the Corporate Liga Lux.  Read All

Dear all, welcome to the fifth match of the Corporate Liga 09/10

Referee of the day is Mr Andrè Urbing, of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football,  who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” .

Second round of the fifth day, and first match after Christmas period for many players.

SEB, Fidelity and PwC need three points to follow Ferrero and Sanpaolo at the top of the list; Citi is looking for its first three points of the season, while EIF  with a victory would keep his position in the middle of the list.

An evening of nice football and full of emotions.

Fidelity vs. PwC   4-10

Big match of the evening.  Two good teams, nice and fair football, looking for the victory.

Fidelity with Larguinho and Cilia, while Reds with Kourrad and Simmou,  goalkeepers Armbruster and Andre.

The score is opened with two goals of Kourrad in the 7th and 8th minutes, but Fidelity didn't give up, and on the 15th and 16th minutes, Larguinho replied with two  very similar goals. Pwc added another one 2 minutes later, but it was no. 10 again, with his 3rd goal, right before half time. The score is tight!

Second half was a whole different story. Pwc decided to show their real face and strength and Fidelity didn't find the answer to that. Pwc increased the score immensely and smashed Fidelity. The match was aggressive and three yellow cards were drawn,  to Cilia from Fidelity and to Quere and Martinoni from Pwc.

First half closed equal 3-3.  Nice and tough match, very well played, but too much aggressive.

In the second half Reds showed their higher experience, and with the leadership of Kourrad and Martinoni (seven goals together), knocked out a however good Fidelity. Final score, 10-4

With this victory, PWC climbs on the third position, just below SanPaolo

Best players: Kourrad and Larguinho

Fair play: Praummembaum and Simmou

Citi  vs.  Ferrero    1-13

On the paper, Ferrero is in the 1st place, what makes it a difficult task for Perrier and colleagues, looking for the first victory in the tournament against the team with the best defence (only three goals received!!!!) and best attack (45, without including today's match). But if you play football, you know that impossible is nothing, but no miracles happened here today.

Match started with Ferrero imposing its supremacy, with a very high pressing and shooting from any possible position, giving a lot of work for Autret, Citi’s goalkeeper. Whites couldn't develop their game, few attacks here and there, but nothing that could actually risk Ferrero's position. There was only one real organized team on the field. It's just the way they perceive the game, fighting for each ball, perfect shoots (sometimes they seem snipers for their precision). It  seems as if they played in the Champion’s league

At the end of the first half, the score was 5-1 for Ferrero, at the end of the game the score was 13-1.

City was just in the wrong place against the wrong team. They didn't stand a chance. Second half was as predicted.

Best players: De Bosio and Perrier

Fair play: Calorio and Helouane

SEB  vs.  EIF  17- 6

Difficult match EIF.  SEB is the only team who succeeded to defeat Sanpaolo in the last three years, and is now looking for the first position in this Liga.  But Blues are not here to make any gift, and came with the only purpose of the three points.

SEB showed immediately why they were the 1st to win Sanpaolo and opened the game with three fast goals, two of them by Koltes. EIF, under shock,  tried to reorganize the team, and their reply arrived in the 9th minute with a goal of Yormesor. But it was enough, as the Italian team didn't give  a chance to get hopes up, and scored two goals back in the next two minutes. At a score of 5-1, it looked quite bad for the guys of EIF, but they didn't give up, and kept trying to draw or short the passive. Seb, on their behalf, didn't stop at 5 and it looked as if their hunger was growing more and more with each goal.

After 25 minutes, score was 9-1 to SEB. now it already looked lost for EIF.

The second part of the match started with an own goal by Berteloot. At this point, it seemed as if EIF's players decided to forget about the result and play for the fun of it, believe it or not, it worked! The second half was more equal and one could see nice attacks at both sides of the field. Pellegrini, SEB’s goalkeeper, was a wall in front of Yormesor and Co., while Zorzetto, Castaldo and Koltes satisfied their need of goals.

The final score was 17-6 to SEB.

Best players:   Zorzetto and  Berteloot

Fair play:      Gobetti and Tikfesis

Now we have 6 matches before the end of the tournament, 18 points to assign and decide the Final Four. Many points to win, and the games are still open. Just do it, impossible is nothing
