Dear all, welcome to the fourth match of the Corporate Liga 09/10 

Referee of the day is Mr Andrè Urbing, of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football,  who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” .  We would like to congratulate with Mr. Urbing as he succeeded to collect more than 60,000 € for this no profit organization. Bravo Andre!

It was an incredible evening, where audience was surprised by the defeat, after two years of victories, of Sanpaolo, the Invincible Armada. Their cousin of SEB, a new emerging team, won the derby, and claims for a position in Final Four. A place that Ferrero seems almost to have booked, after a tennistic match against Fidelity.

Also Pwc has something to say, after another victory against a however good Eurizon. It will be a competitive tournament!

Ferrero vs. Fidelity  6-0

Another tennistic victory for Ferrero. The Reds played another lovely match, with a strong defence (another match without the third match without receing goals!), an impressive pressing, and very good striker, able to finalize any action. Today without De Bosio, Kinder guys could count on Lucchetti, first match for him this year, but it seems he’s something more than a simple substitute for De Bosio, as proved by his three goals. Sometimes we have the impression they are professional players, and not employees with the hobby of football.

On the other side Fidelity didn’t demerit; Larguinho and Co. created different actions and succeeded to shoot many times, but didn’t conclude any action in front of Coimbra. And few errors in defence let the passive very strong. But actually Fidelity errors are quite common, it’s Ferrero that doesn’t make them….

Fidelity has a very good team, but needs something more to qualify; Ferrero, with four victories and the best defence, it’s the best team of this first part of the tournament.

Fair play: Coimbra and Sullivan

Eurizon  vs. PwC   2-9

Three important points for PwC, who finally recovered Suleman Chorfi, second top scorer last year. Eurizon with only five players today, so no turn over for them, that penalized them in the second half.

The first half is equilibrated, both teams attentive in defence and ready for counter attacks. Occasions for both sides, but both goalkeepers didn’t have really problems. Neither teams succeeded to take the leadership of the game; fast game, but very fair.

In the second half Eurizon, again, transformed its self: first time perfect, second time horrible. But we can’t understand the reason. Blacks have technical skill (Machado and Bernasconi, without forgetting cap. Liguori), they are physically more trained than last year (and younger), but the lack of attention (too many errors in defence) and the lack of a serious goalkeeper (3 different goalkeepers in 4 matches), let Eurizon without hope for the Final Four.

PwC, after the loss with Ferrero, found again three important points, leaving them in the top side of the list, and giving them many chances for the Final Four.  Probably now Chorfi could increase the technical values, and the goals, of this team.

Sanpaolo vs. SEB 3-4 

Big match of the evening, and another derby inside Intesa Sanpaolo bank. Two fantastic teams, both with serious chances to take home the Cup.

SEB without Boulard, disqualified, but with lion Martini back; Sanpaolo without Friggione but with Belardi back.

Both teams very closed in defence, high pressing on ball keepers, and ready to exploit any passive action, like free kicks and corners. And this is the difference between a good and a bad team. Sanpaolo has in Sequi its best (and for the moment unique) lethal weapon, always in goal.  Thanks to a free kick and a personal action, WhiteRed closed the first half 2-0.

But like in the match against Eurizon, SEB showed all their potential in the second half. Many players at coach’s disposal, and great sense of goals make Black players very dangerous. And Sanpaolo now knows why.

A double goal of Zorzetto and Zollo (best player of the match), recovered the score and gave to SEB the second place in the tournament, same points for their cousin. But more important, they are the only team who succeeded to stop Sanpaolo since two years. Is Sanpaolo’s era finisched?
