Dear all, welcome to the third match of the Corporate Liga 09/10
Referee of the day is Mr Andrè Urbing, of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football, who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” .
Difficult matches, with a lot of faults. Nervous players and few nice goals characterized the evening.
Fidelity vs. Cetrel 11-3
First match quite easy for Mr. Urbing. Both teams didn’t play hard, with not many faults, leaving different occasions for strikers of both teams.
However the final result, first half was quite equilibrated. Fidelity scored four times before Cetrel, few minutes before the end of the first half, scored twice, re-opening the match.
This match whites are more concentrated and motivated, pressing more often on midfielders, shooting from both sides, using more carefully any free kick. Match by match, a great improvement, both mentally than physically. However, that’s not enough against Larguinho and Co. Too many spaces in front of Martinet, and errors in defence let the Blues close easily the second time.
Now Fidelity is third, waiting for the big match against Ferrero next week. Cetrel always at the end, waiting for the right occasion for their first three
Best players Balaguer and Silvestri
Fair play Praummembaum and Romero
Citi vs. BoNY 5-7
Nervous match, three yellow cards, and many contestations versus the referee.
First half very interesting, with Citi imposing on BoNY, scoring twice with Iannarelli and Mascime, before the draw of Mehl and Mesbah. However few errors and too many dribblings, Citi scored again and closed the first half 4-3. A good first half, where Whites were hoping for their first three points this year.
Second half is quite more nervous, with yellow cards for both sides (but there could be more), with different contestations, on the field and on the bench. Contestations that removed the attention of Citi from the game, and let BoNY score two goals by free kick (plus one on the first time). Half of the goals received today by Whites started from passive actions: more concentration could easily avoid them.
The end of the match closed 7-5 for BoNY, first three points for them; while Citi was quite busy to discuss with referee. We can understand (and accept) that referee makes errors (it happens, also in Premier League), but to give the fault of a loss to him, it’s too easy. More training, less words: that’s the only way to win.
Best players: Mascime and De Coster
SEB vs. Eurizon 8-4
Derby inside Intesa Sanpaolo, waiting for the second one next week. Both teams in dark shirts, with SEB obliged to use the yellow shirts. Nice match, tough, with different faults, but always fair, maybe because everyone is working inside the same company.
First half opened with a macroscopic error of D’Amico (who saved his goal many times in the second half), but Eurizon, first with Machado and after by a penalty of Bernasconi overturned the result. Moreover, Boulard received a red card, leaving his team in three, but Castaldo with a counter attack drawed in the more difficult moment for his team. Machado and Klein closed the first half 3-3. Audience very happy, with Sanpaolo players very attentive.
The second half is always the moment of the truth: it’s here that trained team over performed the less trained (or not at all) team. However the good will, Blacks didn’t train so much together, with a negative influence on harmony on tactics. Different errors in defence, where the poor Steve is trying to do his best, too low counter attacks, and few not well exploited free kicks condemned the match of Eurizon. On the other side, SEB showed a good training, with all players finding each other on the field; players also with good individual skills, and a very good goalkeeper.
SEB won with worth, waiting now for the next week match against Sanpaolo. Don’t miss it.
Best players: Machado and Gobetti
Fair play: Liguori and Castaldo
