Dear all, welcome to the third match of the Corporate Liga 09/10
Referee of the day is Mr Andrè Urbing,of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football, who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” . The referee congratulates with the players for the fairplay showed in the field.
Three fundamental points both for Ferrero, who won a direct competitor for Final Four as PwC, after a very equilibrated match. A victory also for Mizuho, who came back to the three points in a match full of goals with EIF. Goleada for Sanpaolo against BBH.
PwC vs. Ferrero 3-5
Big match of the evening. Two teams that last year succeeded to qualify for the Final Four. Bookmakers pronosticated an easily draw: too difficult to forecast a winner, as both teams have great players.
Ferrero with the same team since the beginning of the tournament, while PwC has recuperated Fondeur.
The match started in relatively sedate fashion as both teams seemed unwilling to take unnecessary risks. Both teams very attentive in defence, pressing on the ball keeper, and many shoots from far, to surprise goalkeepers. The score was opened by PwC with Cerchez, equalised ten minutes later by D’Ambrosio. Martinoni and De Bosio closed the first half 2-2. A nice match, equilibrated, but without many faults. Both teams have mature players with technical skills, and they don’t need to fault to control the game or stop the strikers.
Second half opened immediately with a score by Tripaldella, followed few minutes later by De Bosio again. After that, Nutella’s guys preferred to maintain the advantage goal, and keep the control on the game. However, many occasions for both sides, with goalkeepers often ready to protect their goal. Many goalposts and crossbar (available in the video section), but however a very good Cerchez, PwC couldn’t draw and went under the shower with their first loss in the tournament. Reds confirmed again their supremacy in this first part of the tournament, sending a signal to all teams looking for Final Four.
Best players Stella and Fondeur
Fair play both goalkeepers.
Mizuho – EIF 9-7
Two teams, at the middle of the list, looking to improve their score and the possibility to qualify, behind the Big of the tournament.
The game took some time to warm up, till top scorer of both teams decided to wake up: Baradel for EIF and Silva for Mizuho. And then audience was delighted by different goals, many of them by passive actions (free kick and penalties). No breaks, both teams always ready for counter attack. Silva from one side, Yormesor on the other one, as a terminal point of any action. Many occasions and many goals, that closed the first half 5-3 for Japanese.
The second half was opened by Cartiaux, but The hard-working Berteloot, with a double goal, kept open the match, giving to his team the hope to recover. Till today, he was scoring in any match. In a bid to regain the initiative, Mizuho coach Mariotti started to give indications to his player from the bench, under the attentive control of president Mary. Suggestions dedicated to captain Silva, today man of the match, that scored a hat trick and closed the math 9-7.
Many errors from EIF in defence let, and a prodigious talent of Silva gave the victory to Mizuho.
Best players: Silva and Baradel
Fair play: Silva and Berteloot
BBH – Sanpaolo 0-11
A tough task for BBH, who lost also last year against Sequi and Co., if not impossible.
BBH without Tinakicht and Vandenbusche, Sanpaolo without Belardi and Friggione.
The final score reflects the Italian supremacy during all the match. Too many errors for the Whites, leaving many occasions and spaces for an easily counter attack.
Giovanni Sequi was a menace throughout (top scorer of the tournament till today), his colleague Bogusz was also full of life, brightening the contest with some delightful tricks. Giovanni scored from any position, also from free kick. BBH had few occasions too, but an always good Ambrosio and a lack of aggressivity let Chentouf and Co. without neither a goal.
Best players: Sequi and Lor
Fair play: Machado and Chentouf
Next week don’t miss the incredible “derby” between Eurizon and SEB!!
