Dear all, welcome to the first match of the Corporate Liga 09/10

Referee of the day is Mr Andrè Urbing,of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football,  who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” . The referee congratulates with the players for the fairplay showed in the field.

Before starting the comments, let me say welcome to all new players that joined us this year. I hope you'll enjoy our tournament, and hope the best team could win.

The day was characterized by an incredible amount of goals, in all the matches. Probably it's due to the lack of condition or the insertion of new players during the summer period; but we remind the tournament is quite long, so everything is possible till the end.

Ferrero vs Cetrel  28-0

One side match. The Red Devils (Kinder guy’s) controlled the match since the first minute. More aggressive, few times to much, they applied a very high pressing to all players. Ferrero showed, as last year, very good physical condition, and a great sense of position. Matteo De Bosio, best scorer of the match, was the reference point of his team, ready to distribute the ball and opening “holes” in white’s defence; Many goals, and many assist for his colleagues.

Cetrel, as last year, has many physical condition limits: players who don’t run, and without experience in football tournament. But the worst problem is the head: many goals were a real gift for Ferrero; too many (avoidable) errors  in defence, and lack of hope and angry because of the too many goals taken in the first half. If the goalkeeper Martinet (a very good goalkeeper, however the huge passive) will succeed to work psychologically and built a strong and fair team, results will come without doubt

PwC vs BoNY  8-4

PwC, finalist last year, is coming back this year to win the final cup. Guided by Shadie as goalkeeper and Suleman Chorfi, second top scorer last year, The Auditors won their first three points this year.  New players for both teams, we are sure the show will increase. Especially considering Mehdi Van Renterghem, with two goals best player of his team.

A tough match, with both team very careful to not receive a goal; a match where single players could change everything.

PwC opened the score with Semblat (2 goals at his first match), but Fernandes decided to draw after ten minutes. Renterghem and Kourrad closed the first half 4-1 for PwC.

Second half as the first, with Auditors controlling the match, and keeping under control the Blacks, who scored two goals only at the end, however to late to draw.

PwC played better, and merited the victory; BoNY has to find again his leader Thomas Mehl, who today underperformed the aspectatives. Hope to see him again at his level next game.

Citi vs Sanpaolo  2-4

The winner of the last two edition of Corporate Liga is ready to defend its cup. Same team of the last year. “Squadra che vince non si cambia”: you don’t change a winning team, as usually told in Italy. On the other side, Xavier Simon prepared its team for all summer, both physically and psychologically. And results were very good.

The first half is very equilibrated. After one minute, Sanpaolo opened the score, leaving the audience to think about another goleada for the evening. But Whites reacted very well, trying many times to draw, and succeeding to do it only few minutes before the end of first half.

With Belardi out of the game, Giovanni Sequi took the lead of the team, reminding all why he was the top scorer last year; with a double goal he closed the match, while Citi could score only at end with Sansano.

Sanpaolo played very well, and controlled quite easily the match; however Citi was quite aggressive and has never surrender. Not an easy match for Simon and Co., but for what we saw in this match, Citi will be an hard obstacle for everyone.
