A KINDER SURPRISE IN THE TOURNAMENT
Dear all, welcome to the second match of the first day of Corporate Liga 08/09
Referee of the day is Mr Andrè Urbing,of Federation Luxembourgeoise de Football, who devolves his emolument to “Doctors without borders” . The referee congratulates with the players for the fairplay showed in the field.
Before starting the comments, let me say welcome to all new players that joined us this year. I hope you'll enjoy our tournament, and hope the best team could win.
Except for the second match, this day was quite equilibrate, with all teams studing the opposite one during the first match. Tournament seems to be very equilibrated and probably till the last game there will be possibilities for different teams to qualify for play off.
Raiffeisen – Brown Brothers Harriman 6 - 10
First match and first victory for BBH. The guys leaded by Al Chentouf succeeded to win a very tough and difficult match. After many months in our tournaments, we can see in the field a yellow card, assigned to n° 5 of BBH for a dangerous tackle.
However this episode, the match started very well for the white players (BBH), in goal after one minute. The first half was very equilibrated, with Raiffeisen, leaded by cap. Duarte, ready to exploit every opportunity of counter attack.
In the second half, due to a higher number of players at disposal (4 against 1 for Raiffeisen), and different errors of green players, BBH closed the match with n° 9 and 19.
Raiffeisen played a very good match, but different errors in front of the door and a higher pressing of the BBH gave to the whites the three points.
Best players of the match Duarte for Raiffeisen and n° 6 for BBH; best goalkeeper Dan Kox, Raiffeisen.
Cetrel - Bourse de Luxembourg 2 - 18
After one year of break, the finalist of the first edition of Finance Four is back in the tournament, and shows us why it was in final. Bourse destroyed Cetrel, at its first match in the tournament. Higher pressing, better phisycal condition, sense of goal, and a great goalkeeper make a huge difference between the two teams. Roninho and Co. controlled the match since the beginning, showing the team is playing together since different years.
Cetrel hadn't the same physical condition and the same experience. But the tournament are quite long, and the blue guys will have the time to improve and showe us many surprises.
Best players are n° 7 of Bourse and n° 1 of Cetrel.
Ernest & Young - Ferrero 3 - 7
A (kinder) surprise for the first match of E&Y. First at all, congratulations to the guys leaded by Matteo De Bosio for their very nice T Shirts.
It was a very difficult match, closed only 10 minutes to the end by the Ferrero guys. Also in this match there is a yellow card, Almamy Dabo, of E&Y, to prove how the match was strong. Youenn Paul, captain of grey team, leaded his team with two nice goals, closing the first half 3-4 for Kinder's.
But in the second half, thanks to different defence errors by E&Y and a more aggressive character, Ferrero scored 3 goals and closed the match.
E&Y need to train more to improve team automatism, and so avoid defensive errors.
Best player of the match Alberto Donnini for Kinder, and Salih Ozkan for E&Y. Congratulations also to Pierre Kempeneer, grey goalkeeper, for his different great saves.
Now all the teams have played one match and "tasted" the field. No more excuse for any team now. The challenge for the victory is officially open.
